*** RACE EIGHT ANALYSIS ***
(# 7) MARYVILLE Makes her third career start on Saturday. She was entered on the grass in her debut and the result was a solid 2nd place finish, beaten a head, to the quality filly Fleet Streak. That filly returned on Tuesday to run a strong 2nd to Selva who is a multiple stakes winner. Maryville broke her maiden by 4 lengths under a hand ride Jan 30. She defeated a well meant Larry Jones 1st timer who was odds on. Maryville forced a blazing pace. Her final time was very fast for that maiden special weight condition. She has shown in both starts that she can rate behind the speed then attack on the turn. On Saturday, Maryville is the 2nd choice on the morning line behind the 2-1 favorite Simplify who returns off a long layoff. I feel she has a conditioning edge and a strong race over the track is a major plus. (# 3) JENIFEE Menifee filly was well bet in her debut for a $50,000 tag and responded with a professional win from off the pace. Surprisingly, she was claimed by Tim Glyshaw. Not many maidens are claimed for this amount from their debut. She stalked a hot pace then gunned down the leader in the stretch. A dangerous longshot for a high % barn. (# 2) TIME WELL SPENT In her first start as a 3yo she cut out a blazing pace and held on for the place behind a fast filly. She had the very promising Jones runner Bhangaloo Ruby behind her in 3rd. Figures to be sent to the lead once again and should hold on better with that last one behind her. A fast half mile breeze since raced lessens the chance of a bounce. (# 8) SIMPLIFY Showed plenty of promise last year when she won her Churchill debut then missed narrowly in a G3 stakes. She had gaps between each of her 3 starts and has not been seen since August. She is obviously good enough to win it if Asmussen has her in top form off the long layoff. Works have been regularly spaced slow breezing drills. Would expect at least one work where she was asked for speed.
