RACE EIGHT OBSERVATIONS by The Wizard on Saturday, February 14, 2009

7-5 winner CAPTAIN CHEROKEE won like a 7-5 should. Raced in mid pack racing wide. Asked for run at the top of the stretch and easily drew clear inside the 1/8th pole. Could have a bright future. NORTHERN PRINCE closed late along the rail to narrowly edge clear from the pacesetter MONTECORE who ran well stretching out to 2 turns. Pressured from the start. Lugged in a bit in the stretch, but still managed to fight on hard to the wire, just failing to hold the place. DOC’S FRIEND and BREAKING NEWS finished well too late on the far outside.
