(# 7) DON’T SHOOT In his debut he settled for a distant 3rd behind two very fast colts in an "off the turfer". Finished 4th, again against a key race field, when Neil HGoward tried him around two turns last time. $250,000 son of City Zip is coming up to a big race. His sire is an A-rated turf influence. He is a half to two turf winners including stakes winner Sleeping Indian. Two strong drills since his last start with Albarado up. (# 6) PERSIAN Comes off two 2nd place finishes under these exact conditions. He entered the final furlong with a clear lead last time but was caught at the wire. Peace Rules colt has been on the board in 7 of his 8 starts. Finished a sharp 3rd in the mud three starts back, so he is a strong contender on turf or dirt. (# 1) WESLINN Overcame a rough start to finish a fast closing 3rd in his 5F Calder debut. Tried at a mile last time, he stalked the pace for 6F while racing on the far outside. Worked fast prior to shipping over from Florida. The blinkers that go on today were likely worn for his fast drill on Feb. 20.
