NOTE: THIS RACE IS SIMILAR TO THE 7TH, AS MANY IN HERE HAVE NEVER RUN ON THE GRASS. 7 OF THE 9 FILLIES IN HERE ARE MAKING THEIR TURF DEBUT WHICH MAKES THIS RACE VERY DIFFICULT.

(# 5) TENSAS PALMYRA showed nothing when sent off at even money in her debut but came up big at a mile in her 2nd start. She stalked the pace then drove to the lead and bounded clear. Her final quarter in :24 4/4 was excellent for a newly-turned 3yo filly over this course. Afternoon Deelites filly has unlimited potential and is a half to turf stakes winner Tensas Yucatan. (# 4) LIGHTLIGHTLIGHT Will be glad not to see Warrior Maid in the gate after chasing that filly home in her last three. She earned a big figure on New Year's Day when she finished 2nd to Warrior Maid in a fast race. There was a gap of 12 lengths back to the pack. She was going strongly at the wire at 7F last time and should handle the two turns. Her sire, Whywhywhy, is a top rated turf influence. Another live runner from the Asmussen barn. (# 6) WANNA CUDDLE Late runner won a small stakes at LaD and has never missed the board. She does not have a lot of grass in her bloodlines but the granddaughter of Seattle Slew should enjoy the route. If this race stays on turf it becomes a crap shoot as none of the contenders are proven on the lawn. (# 9) SEVEN SEVENTYTHREE Stretches out for the first time following a 7F tightener at Delta Downs. Like may of the others her turf breeding is questionable. However, both of her wins came on polytrack. Runners who like the artificial surfaces often transfer their form to the grass. (# 1) HAZEL GROVE Could improve back on the grass. Lone turf start was in her debut going 2 turns against open company maidens. Will be the inside speed with new rider Albarado aboard. Bred for grass on her dam side.
