Race one features a field of seven, all who are two year old fillies, making their career debut going 4 1/2 furlongs. Two very important handicapping strategies for these types of races, is that inside posts are a big advantage over the outside slots, because there is a very short run to the first tunr. It's very easy for horses breaking from the outside, to be hung out very wide, which basically eliminates their chances. The second strong angle is pedigree. You want to favor precocious breeding, whose sires or dams have produced two year olds, that have done well early in their careers, and who have shown speed. The third angle, and probably the most important, is betting action.

With 20 minutes to race one, the (# 1) CAT BELLS is the 9-5 favorite. (# 5) SHE BE WILD is second choice at 2-1. (# 4) CARA PALIDO is third choice at 3-1. No other horses are being bet they way you want to see them at this time.
