(10) LARAGH - She was able to steal away to a daylight lead and set an uncontested pace on the front end once nobody decided to press her. And, she had more than enough gas left in the tank to repel the late bid of (7) MAGICAL AFFAIR. The second-place finisher was badly outrun early on while racing at the back of the pack. She was out of position virtually the entire way, racing widest into the stretch while attempting to rally. She was left with entirely too much to do, and was clearly second best. (3) BANKER’S CHOICE - Trailed the field until the stretch, and then closed belatedly to pass tired horses for the show. (4) ABBOTT HALL - Broke well, and then settled in mid-pack. She appeared to race without incident, and never made her presence felt at any point in a puzzling effort.
