(5) BULLSBAY - Like Miss Isella in Race 7, he rode the rail to victory under a heady ride by jockey Jeremy Rose. Within striking distance of the lead behind tepid fractions down the backstretch, Bullsbay have to wait for an opening before making his bid. That opportunity came in the upper stretch, as Rose set him down and he moved quickly to challenge for the lead, subsequently edging away late. (4) COOL COAL MAN stalked the pace just outside the frontrunning (10) Informed, put that rival away shortly after turning for home, and then held on gamely for the place, but was no match for the winner late. (6) STAR GUITAR loomed a dangerous presence around the far turn and into the stretch, but was one-paced late and outlasted the frontrunner for the show. (10) Informed was well-handled on the lead down the backstretch, fought gamely when headed by the eventual second-place finisher, and then continued on willingly late to just miss the show. (1) MACHO AGAIN was outrun behind slow fractions down the backstretch, and failed to make any impact in the stretch drive in a lackluster effort. (8) DR. PLEASURE behind the leaders towards the inside while chasing the pace in the second flight of runners, remained close up until upper stretch, and then had no response when set down for the drive. NOTE: THIS IS THE HORSE THAT I SAID WAS WASHED OUT IN THE PADDOCK!! THIS WAS A HORSE I SELECTED ON TOP ON MY SHEET, BUT ONCE I SAW HIM, HE WAS A THROW OUT.
