RACE ONE OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, May 02, 2009
(3) RAPOSA - Broke alertly to set a fast early pace from just off the inside, was nicely handled on the front end by Borel, responding nicely once set down in the stretch and then ran clear to win by daylight. (1) MOTHER RUTH - Raced bottled up towards the inside down the backstretch, was maneuvered of the inside for a bid around the far turn, continued on willingly in the stretch but was no match for the winner. (4) AWESOME GRANNIE - Was well back early on in the second flight of runners down the backstretch, made up ground in the stretch and was never a serious threat. (5) BRITANNIA ROSE - Raced two-wide disputing the pace until early stretch, and then weakened noticeably under pressure in the final furlong. (8) SECRET HUMOR - flashed speed while racing outside, gave ground approaching the far turn and lacked a response in the stretch. (2) LANGILA and (7) FAITH IN ME broke awkwardly and never got involved.
