(4) BRUCE CARL - Dueled head and head for the lead along the inside into the stretch, put his pace nemesis away shortly thereafter, and then drew clear to win by a daylight margin. (9) VOW OF VENGEANCE - Well off the pace early on, made up ground willingly leaving the far turn, loomed boldly to challenge the winner in the stretch, but could not match strides late while second best. (6) IMA QUICK CAT - Dueled for the lead while racing two-wide into the stretch, and then gave way while tiring past midstretch. (1) COWBOYONTHERUN - badly outrun early, found his best stride in the stretch, and then was forced to check along the rail when lacking room late, which probably cost him the show.
