UPDATED WEATHER AND TRACK CONDITIONS by The Wizard on Friday, May 01, 2009

The track was upgraded to FAST for race eleven, but there is still a good amount of moisture in it. It is a little humid, but the sun is out. Rain is expected this evening and Saturday, but you never know. It could hit or miss. My best prediction when you handicap the Derby card, is to look for horses who have shown they can handle a wet surface, and those that have proven they cannot. I would also look for wet turf form. Many grass horses prefer either firm or good to soft grass. Few relish both.
