The Irish-bred #3 MAREE BASSE opened a clear lead on the first turn and held it to the top of the stretch when she dropped out. #1 CREATIVE DESIGN raced in 4th early, got through along the rail and outfinished #4 FLAMING SLEW. 'SLEW rated just behind the leaders, moved to the lead in deep stretch from the outside but could not contain the winner. #2 DA MAMA broke down with a furlong to go.
