Fair Grounds Weekly Report for racing days 12/3 - 12/7/09:
Track profile/Bias Section
Running Style Designations:(F) Frontrunner - dictates the pace at every call.
(S) Speed - generally one length or less from the lead. Contests orpresses the early pace.
(SC) Short Closer - rates 'just off' the pace. Sometimes sits behind a speed duel, usually less than three lengths from the front. May also be termed a 'stalker'.
(C) Closer - runs in mid-pack or further back, about 4 to 8 lengths off the lead.
(DC) Deep Closer - runs toward the back of the field and comes from 6 or more lengths behind.
NOTE: There will be instances when a particular running style was not dominant. When this occurs, two running styles are specified, with the most prominent style given first.
Bias Intensity:
(1) - Slight (2) - Significant (3) - Pronounced
NOTE: Occasionally you will see (+) after a bias. This denotes that the existing bias was nearly potent enough to attain the next level.

Horses to WatchDecember 4th
FLEETING ROMANCE (Race 1): Was in good position early then was put in tight quarters and hit the rail entering the far turn. She was unable to recover from the mugging. Dangerous next time with a clean trip.
December 5th
CLEVER ETBAUER (Race 6): Won easily with gas left in the tank when plunged in class by Autrey. There were no takers at the claim box, so this 3yo will be well placed next time.
ASKBUT I WON'TTELL (Race 9): Had dead aim on the first two when they squeezed her back in mid-stretch. The stewards denied Graham's foul claim, but she may have been best.
December 7th
THE BIG WATUSI (Race 7): First timer was heavily bet despite trainer Josie Carroll’s so-so record with debut runners. He was allowed to race wide on the turn and finished evenly. Look for big improvement next time, possibly at a route.
