FINAL TRACK BIAS AND HORSES TO WATCH
There was no bias on polytrack or grass today. Two horses to watch from today.

Race 7: RUN FOR IT

Race 8: EXCELENTE

Thanks for joining in. I will return next Saturday for another "LivewiththeWizard", from Arlington Park.
RACE ELEVEN TRIP NOTES
Great ride by Eddie Razo on GIANT OAK, who scores at 5-2. Rated along the rail in mid pack. Swung out at the top of the stretch, and sustained a strong closing rally to just run down longshot NO INFLATION, who chased the loose leader and slow pace set by the 2-1 favorite GOLDEN MEXICO. Wore that one down in deep stretch, but could not hold off a better horse. EL CRESPO picked up the tired pacesetter late, for a no threat third. The rest showed little.

PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS RACE ELEVEN
All nine three year olds, look good.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE ELEVEN
co-favorites, with (#3 and # 4) both at 2-1. The odds of the others are well spread out. Both have big shots to win, but I feel they are overbet.
MORE BETTING ACTION IN RACE ELEVEN
Another overbet horse is (# 3) Giant Oak, who is sitting at 2-1 with 15 minutes to post, and is also the favorite in the Pick 3's.
BETTING ACTION RACE ELEVEN
(# 4) GOLDEN MEXICO, opened up the 8-5 favorite. Unless he drifts up in price, at these odds, he is way overbet even though he is a major contender.
RACE TEN TRIP NOTES
7-2 winner VACATION, gives trainer Shug McGaughey and rider John Velazquez, their 2nd stakes win on the day. Vacation has quickly shown that he is a synthetic course specialist, scoring a decisive win. Sat in good position outside in 4th approaching the stretch. Drew clear with complete authority at the 1/8th pole. DOMINICAN, closed widest in the stretch, to be a clear 2nd, but no threat to the winner. Both 3-1 co-favorites CHEROKEE ARTIST and CORAGIL CAT, showed nothing, especially the latter, who acted sore in the stretch.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE TEN
Very spread out board, with the favorite at 3-1 with 4 minutes to go. The big favorite in the Pick 3's, (# 2), is up to 7-2. I expected him to drop to about 5-2 based on the money in the pools. This is clearly a race, where trip matters most, as any of these could win.
PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS RACE TEN
All eight horses look very good.
RIDER CHANGE RACE TEN
Rene Douglas, who was thrown from his mount in race nine, will be replaced in this race, with Eddie Perez, who rides (# 7) AMAZING RESULTS.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE TEN
Even though (# 2) CHEROKEE ARTIST is co-favorite at 3-1, he is a clear favorite in the Pick 3's and exactas. His price will no doubt drop.
BETTING ACTION RACE TEN
Wide opening betting at the start, with two horses co-favorites at 3-1.
RACE NINE TRIP NOTES
Trip made the differance here, with 7-1 winner EUPHONY, receiving a picture perfect ride by Berry. Stalked the pace along the rail. Moved to the lead at the top of the stretch, and had enough left to hold off the fast closing KISS WITH THE TWIST, who was probably best. Taken back to last early. Strong wide middle move to range up toward the lead approaching the stretch. Continued widest in the lane. Could not overcome the perfect trip of the winner, but continued on very game to the wire in a fine effort. 4-5 favorite INDESCRIBABLE, was clearly the one to beat, but at odds on, I felt she was overbet. This was a case of liking a horse like her to win, but not willing to take that price.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE NINE
(# 9) continues to be the overwhelming 4-5 favorite. She deserves to be the chalk, but at these odds, she is clearly overbet in my opinion, especially having to break from an outside post. Good race to look around for a price horse.
PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS RACE NINE
All nine horses look very good.
BETTING ACTION RACE NINE
(# 9) INDESCRIBABLE, opened up the overwhelming 4-5 favorite. She is also the huge favorite in all pools. The closest to her in the wagering is (# 2) KISS WITH A TWIST, at 4-1. The rest are 8-1 to 35-1.
RACE EIGHT TRIP NOTES
6-5 favorite CONSEQUENCE, stalked a moderate pace in second. Strong urging to get by pacesetterAFTERNOON STROLL inside the 1/8th pole, and had enough left to hold the late charge of EXCELENTE, who was closing boldly down the middle of the track. Solid effort. Both horses clearly best of the rest. HOT CHA CHA had only a mild rally along the rail late. OBSEQUIOUS was rank on the first turn, and again on the backstretch. Loomed wide at the top of the stretch, but came up empty from mid stretch.
PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS RACE EIGHT
All seven of these 3 year old fillies look good.
BETTING ACTION RACE EIGHT
New York shipper (# 7) CONSEQUENCE, opened up at 7-5 in the betting, and is a clear cut favorite over six rivals in all pools.
RACE EIGHT
Race eight begins the ALL STAKES PICK 4. There is a $100,000 guaranteed payout.

RACE SEVEN TRIP NOTES
5-1 first timer, CRUISE, broke sharp. Rated nicely by Emigh from the start. Faced a stiff challenge on the far turn, as the 6-5 favorite GILDED TREASURE made a menacing wide rally to challenge. Fought that one off in mid stretch, then dug in gamely, to hold off the late charges of RUN FOR IT and SWEET ARIETTE. Run For It was probably best, as she was pinned to the rail, racing in tight from mid stretch to the wire. Jock wanted desperately to ease outside, but could not, and she continued pinned along the wood. Found some room to ease out with just yards to go, and was gaining on the winner with every stride. Sweet Artie, closed steadily widest in the stretch. Improved effort. Too Divine closed well too late along the rail. The favorite was overbet and awful.
RACE SEVEN
All riders are off the mounts and are behind the stall. There will be a delay and wagering is still open.
MORE BETTING ACTION IN RACE SEVEN
(# 11) continues to get crushed in all pools. She is now down to 6-5. Closest filly in the betting to her is (# 3) CRUISE, a 1st timer, who is 5-1.
LATE SCRATCH RACE SEVEN
(# 7) SERGEANT CARTER, flipped behind the paddock on his side, and is a vet scratch.
PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS RACE SEVEN
All eleven fillies look good.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE SEVEN
(# 11) continues to take a lot of action in all pools. None of the 1st timers are taking the kind of money you want to see, but it is a tricky read, as the favorite, is way overbet, and the other prices are out of line. Even though she is overbet, that always happens with 1st time Catalano runners, but he wins with all the time with these underlays.
BETTING ACTION RACE SEVEN
(# 11) GILDED TREASURE, 5-1 on the morning line, opened up at 7-5, making 1st start for the red hot Catalano, despite stepping up in class. She is the favorite in the doubles and a big favorite in the Pick 3's. 1st timer (# 3) CRUISE, opened up at 7-1, is the second choice in the doubles, but is one of three horses (3-4-5 program numbers), who are a bunched at around $600 in the Pick 3's. Catalano always takes big money with his new acquisitions, which he wins in bunches.
RACE SIX TRIP NOTES (GRASS)
Great ride by Riggs on 5-1 winner Bubber, who sat outside in 4th from the start. Riggs made a perfectly timed sweep to the lead in mid stretch, and went on to a comfortable victory. Pacesetter MORAL FIBER, was able to clear to the lead from post ten. Rated beautifully by Graham, setting moderate fractions. Was no match for the winner, but held on very game to run second. DAVID K, was forced to rally wide from well off the pace against a moderate pace to run third, just outfinishing WAUPACA, who was in tight in deep stretch along the rail. Jock wanted to come outside, but had no room, and was forced to keep his path along the fence. Just lost a three horse photo for the 2nd-3rd-4th slots.
RACE SIX PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
All horses look OK with the exception of (# 7) GIANT SHIFT, who is fractious, and (# 12) BOND STREET, who returns off a layoff with FRONT BANDAGES ON.
BETTING ACTION RACE SIX
Wide open board. The favorite is (# 5) DAVID K is 4-1. The rest of the field range from 5-1 to 20-1.
MID DAY BIAS UPDATE
The polytrack and the grass course are both playing fair through five races.
RACE FIVE TRIP NOTES
13-1 upset by PEYOTE PATTY, who blew away the field, after setting a pressured pace along the rail throughout. SOUPER MISS had dead aim on the winner thro9ugh the stretch, but could only finish evenly for second. The favorite HEART THIEF, had nothing in the stretch.
RACE FIVE PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
All eight horses look very good.
MORE BETTING ACTION IN RACE FIVE
(# 5) HEART THIEF, 9-5 favorite with 10 minutes to go, is the slight favorite in the Pick 4's, as well as in the exactas.
BETTING ACTION RACE FIVE
(# 5) HEART THIEF, opened up the heavy favorite at 7-5, off two good career efforts. The rest of the fields odds range between 5-1 and 12-1. Heart Thief is not the favorite in the Pick 3's. (# 7) STAY SEES MOM, who opened up at 5-1, is the betting choice.
RACE FOUR TRIP NOTES (GRASS)
9-1 winner BALLYNOE, rated between horses in fourth to the top of the stretch. Found an opening between horses in mid stretch. Edged clear with 70 yards to go, and was all out to hold off the late charge of the heavy favorite CHEROKEE QUEEN, who was clearly best after a rough trip in the stretch. She sat a beautiful rail trip stalking the moderate fractions. Tried to come through a narrow opening between the rail and the pacesetter PURE BABY, but was caught in tight and forced to check, losing all momentum. Recovered quickly, easing off the inside and finding a clear lane nearing the wire, but simply ran out of ground. Pacesetter Pure Baby, was hounded to her outside from the start, but the pace was comfortable. Tried to fight on in deep stretch, but had to settle for third, losing to two better fillies at the distance. The top three were much the best of the rest.
RACE FOUR PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
All eight horses look good. (# 2) continues to take all the money in ALL pools. With 7 minutes to go, she is even money.
BETTING ACTION RACE FOUR
(# 2) CHEROKEE QUEEN opened up the overwhelming 4-5 favorite in a field of eight going 1 1/16 miles on grass. She is also a big favorite in the Pick 3's.
RACE THREE TRIP NOTES
7-5 winner POPSICLE TOES, was full of run from the start, stalking a contested pace, on the rail. Slipped through a narrow opening at the 1/8th pole, and drew clear with complete authority. OK return from WILDWOOD MEADOW, who chased throughout. Was all out to wear down the two pacesetters. IN MY MIND dueled inside SECRET TIDE. Put that one away in mid stretch, but then had no answer fo the winner, and was outfinished for second.
RACE THREE PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
All seven horses look good.
RACE TWO TRIP NOTES
5-2 second choice HANGMAN, rated nicely stalking the pace along the rail. Split horses in mid stretch to go after JAYGAR DANCER. Was under a stiff drive to prevail over that rival, who was forced to duel with Fen from the start. Easily put that one away, but was outfinished. The rest showed nothing. SPRUCE LAKE pulled up sore.
NEW GELDING RACE TWO ???
It was just announced that (# 7) FEN should be listed in the program as a gelding. He is a 7 year old horse, not a gelding, on all the PP's. It is unlikely that he is a new gelding because of his age and the fact that he has already started 52 times. Probably just an error in the program and form, but I am not a 100 % sure.
RACE TWO PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
All six horses look good.
RACE TWO BETTING MENU
Race two starts the first of two Pick 4's. (Races 2-3-4-5). As a result of the late scratch of (# 5), there is no superfecta wagering.
RACE ONE TRIP NOTES
4-1 winner SUB FUTZ JR, was taken back to last and relaxed nicely. Swung out widest into the stretch. Sustained a strong steady rally to wear down MIGHTY RULE, who held gamely for 2nd, after setting a pressured pace inside of FOXIE'S BOY, who quit willingly inside the 1/16th pole. BIG RED RANGER, sat a perfect rail trip to be a no threat 3rd. No excuse at all for CYA LATER BERT, who had dead aim through the stretch, but came up empty. Pulled up very tired past the wire. Disliked the polytrack in his first attempt over it.
RACE ONE PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
All five look good.
TOM AMOSS
Tom Amoss, who has been at Churchill Downs, is at Arlington today. He is in the paddock for race 1 to saddle (# 4) CYA LATER BERT, who is the 2-1 slight favorite with 10 minutes to go.
THE WIND
NOTE: THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL DAYS WHERE THERE HAVE BEEN STRONG HEAD AND TAIL WINDS WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN BIASES. TODAY, THERE IS NO WIND WHATSOVER, WHICH IS LIKELY TO PRODUCE A VERY HONEST RACING SURFACE.
