RACE ELEVEN TRIP NOTES WITH STEWARDS AND JOCKEY OBJECTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Great ride by Karlsson, aboard 8-1 upset winner P D Q KIDDO, who set a slow pace from the outset. Put into a drive at the top of the stretch, looked beaten in deep stretch, but dug in gamelyalong the fence to come again at the wire to win by a nose. There was a stewards and rider claim of foul on the winner, for coming out three paths, at the top of the lane, bumping with BOLD ABBOTT who ran second. TERRYHOWIEANDJIMMY closed well late racing widest against a slow pace. The stewards decided to leave the winner up which was the correct decision.
RACE ELEVEN PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS AND MORE BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
This race, scheduled for the grass, was switched to the main track.
All eight horses look good. The betting continues to be VERY WIDE OPEN. Favorite# 4, is at 3-1. Several bunched together after that.

RACE ELEVEN BETTING ACTION ON THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Another very wide open board at the open. Favorite is # 7 at 3-1. Several others bunched together.
RACE TEN TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Very game win by 5-1 winner MY NEW LADY, who forced the pace outside two speeds. Continued wide into the stretch, then won a long battle with BOOTPRINTS, who ran big. Set a pressured pace along the rail from the start. Never gave an inch until being outfinished nearing the wire. Both horses clearly best of the rest.
MORE BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Based on the exotic wagering, it is not unexpected that # 3 is getting bet down. She is now the 5-2 second choice.
RACE TEN PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All eight horses look good, especially # 5 HUG IT OUT, who shows an excellant appearance.
HORSES TO WATCH LIST
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
I have 2 horses to watch so far, the next time they run. I will post these horses after my Race 11 trip notes.
MORE BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 3 SOCIAL CHARMER, who is the 3-1 morning line favorite, opened up at 6-1 and is the big favorite in the doubles, but second choice in the Pick 3's. Based on the exotic board, her odds will drop down.
RACE TEN BETTING ACTION AT THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Another wide open board at the open. # 5 and # 8 are the co-favorites at 2-1 and 5-2. Spread out behind those 2.
WINNER STOLE IT ON THE FRONT END
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
The race was never in doubt after an 1/8th of a mile, when 5-2 winner CHEROKEE QUEEN skipped to the front setting a "snail" pace. Put the rest to sleep and went on her merry way in the stretch to an easy win. Certainly a horse you want to bet against next time out!
EINSTEIN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
What a BRUTAL trip for Einstein in the Stephen Foster at Churchill. Could never run from start to finish. Boy did they gang up on him. Once he shook clear in deep stretch, he finished best of all, but simply ran out of ground to upset winner Macho Again, who had a perfect trip and would never beat Einstein or for that matter third place finisher Adriatic Boy ever again!
VERY TRICKY RACE
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
There is no confirmed front runner in this stake, which makes it a very difficult race to sink your teeth into. Still a very wide open board!
RACE NINE BETTING ACTION AT THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Wide open board in this stake which was scheduled for the grass and switched to the main track.
RACE EIGHT TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
7-5 favorite ERDISTON, chased along the rail in third. Rider Baird, searched for an opening on the fence, and found it in deep stretch, when threading a needle, to take lead and draw clear. Great, gutsy ride. MADDY'S BOBCAT, closed well too late for second. both he and third place finisher, were clear of trouble through the stretch run, both having perfect trips.
MORE BETTING ACTION AND PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All ten horses look ok. Continues to be a very wide open board with the favorite, # 2, at 3-1. # 6 ZIP ZAHERI, adds front bandages for the first time which is a negative.
RACE EIGHT BETTING ACTION ON THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Wide open board in a very competitive race. With 20 minutes to go, # 2 ERDISTON, is the lukewarm 3-1 favorite.
RACE SEVEN TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Even money favorite SINGLE SOLUTION, sustained a good closing rally from far back, to nail front runner BILL'S PRESENCE, who shook loose to a nice early lead in a paceless race. Put away the chasers in mid stretch, looked a sure winner, but was nailed late. Top 2 were much the best of the rest.
MORE BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 8 SINGLE SOLUTION, is a worthy favorite in this off the grass race, but at 6-5 odds with 2 minutes to go, I feel she is a bit overbet.
RACE SEVEN PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS AND MORE BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All eight horses look good. # 4 ROSE A NATIVE, removes front bandages for this.

SHOE REPAIR IN PADDOCK
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 6 ILY is getting a shoe repair in the paddock with 10 minutes to go.
*** MID DAY BIAS UPDATE ****
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
I give a slight edge to horses closing from off the pace. Only front running winner was the 1-2 odds on favorite in race one, who was tiring late. All other five races won from behind. There is no path bias, as horses have won racing outside or on the rail.
RACE SEVEN BETTING ACTION AT THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 8 SINGLE SOLUTION, is a big favorite in all pools at the open. Rest of the field is well spread out in the wagering.
RACE SIX TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Dream trip for 6-5 favorite OPPORTUNE MOMENT, who was taken back off a contested pace. Rider Graham found a nice opening along the fence, making a premature move to the lead at the top of the stretch. Opened up what looked to be an insurmountable lead in mid stretch, but was getting a bit leg wary as the new gelding HARBOR WIN came storming on the outside to be a fast closing second. Top two much the best of the rest.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE SIX
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 2 has settled in as the favorite as the rest of the field's odds are spread out.
RACE SIX PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All seven horses look good, especially # 2 OPPORTUNE MOMENT.
NEW GELDING RACE SIX
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 3 HARBOR WIN, returns for high percentage trainer Wayne Catalano, off a layoff, making first start as a NEW GELDING!
RACE SIX BETTING ACTION AT THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Very wide open board in a competitive affair.
RACE FIVE TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Another big favorite bites the dust, as PURE BABY stalked outside the pacesetter TOUR d'AURA. Held to mid stretch, then tired to be a bad third. Tour set a slow pace, repulsed the chalk, edged clear in mid stretch, but was run down easily by sharp returnee LAKEAWAY, who closed from mid pack on the outside despite not changing leads. Scores at 2-1.
RACE FIVE PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All five horses look good, especially # 4 TOUR D' AURA, who looks best.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE FIVE
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Another overbet favorite with 11 minutes to go. # 6 PURE BABY is too low a price at 6-5 odds.
RACE FIVE BETTING ACTION AT THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
NOTE: This race, scheduled for the grass , was switched to the main track. Wide open board on the open.
RACE FOUR TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Trainer Hugh Robertson, runs 1-2, with the longer priced horse, 13-1 winner SKY N MIGHTY, running down the 9-5 favorite SASSY SHORE BREEZE, who had no excuse not holding on after clearing early and setting a moderate pace. Both horses clearly best of the rest.
RACE FOUR PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All six horses look fine. # 1 SASSY SHORE BREEZE, removes front bandages which is a plus.
RACE FOUR BETTING ACTION ON THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 1 SASSY SHORE BREEZE, opened as the favorite, as expected, at 8-5. She is the favorite in all pools.
RACE THREE TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
9-1 upset winner FAST ALBERT, rallied from dead last with a strong wide rally through the stretch, and an excellant ride by Fernando Jara, to earn a nose victory. Jara is riding for the first time at Arlington after being a jockey in Saudi Arabia. Longshot SWEEPY BLUFF chased in mid pack racing wide all the wire. Just got nailed at the wire in a sharp effort. Odds on favorite AND THE BEAST, came up empty in the stretch as the 3-5 favorite in an awful effort. WHODO, who I said took sneaky early money, nearly upset the field after setting a moderate pace from the start. Tired very late in an improved effort.
RACE THREE PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS AND NEW GELDING
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All 8 horses look good. # 5 RAMBLE CAMBELL, is a first time gelding.
MORE BETTING ACTION RACE THREE
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 2, 20-1 on the morning line, continues to take "sneaky" money. 7-2 odds with 11 minutes to go.
RACE THREE BETTING ACTION AT THE OPEN
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
20-1 morning line WHODO, opened up very short at 2-1. To me that's "sneaky" early money. The favorite in all pools is # 4, AND THE BEAST, who opened at 9-5.
RACE TWO TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Way overbet BELLA BLISS, at 4-5 odds, opened up a huge lead early on. Continued to hold what looked like an insurmountable lead into the stretch. Could not hold off the grinding rally of 3-1 winner REINE DES COUERS, who nailed the chalk at the wire. Favorite had no excuse!!
RACE TWO PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS: START OF THE EARLY PICK 4
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All 5 horses look good. # 2 continues to take all the money. I feel she is overbet off the sharp drop in class and from barn that has been cold this meet.
RACE TWO BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 2 BELLA BLISS, opened up at 8-5, and is the clear favorite in all pools. The double with her is a very short $7.00.
RACE ONE TRIP NOTES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
1-5 winner SINGANDPRAYFURRHEN, set pace from the start. Was under a stiff drive to hold her advantage to the wire. 1st timer I SEE MAMBO was probably best. Checked hard at the start, finding herself quickly in last place. Took the inside path, moving willingly into contention. Eased off the rail in very deep stretch, edging out THATS WHATSHESAID by a nose at the wire for second. That rival was hard used chasing the winner racing wide. Continued willingly to the wire in a good debut.
MORE BETTING ACTION AND PADDOCK OBSERVATIONS
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All six horses look good. # 5 continues to be taking all the money at 3-5 odds. 1st timers, # 1 and # 6, are the only horses who have not started to be taking money.
MORE LATE CHANGES
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
All four grass races, including the stake race # 9, are switched to the main track. Only late scratch is in Race 10, # 10 SMOKEN DREAMS.
RACE ONE BETTING ACTION
by The Wizard on Saturday, June 13, 2009
# 5 SINGANDPRAYFURRHEN, who is only one of two horses to have run, and her race was tons better than the other starter, is the huge favorite at 1-2 odds with 20 minutes to go. Only # 6 THATS WHATSHESAID, is the lone first timer who is getting bet at 7-2 odds. The rest are not getting money at all.
