Live with the wizard

THISCATCANSCAT set a pressured pace, held the lead into deep stretch but had no answer when challenged by CURE. CURE rated in mid-pack, moved wide for the drive and gunned down the leaders. THISCATCANSCAT won the photo for 3rd.
FINAL TRACK BIAS AND HORSES TO WATCH
The polytrack favored stalkers and pressers, there was no turf racing.

HORSES TO WATCH

Race 4 - SUPERIOR ATTITUDE
Raced in 3rd early, moved quickly to engage the leader a furlong out despite being very rank and lugging in. Graham straightened her out in deep stretch and she won going away. This daughter of Tapit is beginning to put it together and still has plenty of upside with more experience.

Race 7 - BREZING RAIN
Looked ready in the paddock and delivered the goods on the track. 3yo filly opened a clear lead while still in hand then drew away powerfully through the drive to basically dust a 1st tier allowance field. That was just her 3rd start and she does not need the lead.
PADDOCK RACE NINE
#5 THISCATCANSCAT looks fit and ready. #8 ZIP ZAHERI is adding front wraps for the first time since April. Others look ok.
BETTING RACE NINE
With 13 minutes to post #5 THISCATCANSCAT and #6 CURE are virtual co-favorites with the rest of the field closely matched.
TRIP NOTES RACE EIGHT
HEZA HARLEY MAN got the best of a pace duel with I'VE GOT A SECRET. CANNON'S CALL rated well off the pace, made a strong 3-wide move on the turn and appeared on his way to victory. WEGGIE stalked in 3rd early, appeared blocked behind the leaders when Emigh found room between horses in deep stretch and he shot to the lead.
ANALYSIS RACE NINE
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 9

5 THISCATCANSCAT
Honest 5yo returns from a much needed rest dropping from starter allowance company for trainer Mike Dini. Last two works are sharp and must be considered a major contender with Alvarado in the irons.

6 CURE
Has been consistent all year, having only been out of the money once in eight trips to post, and that was due to a poor break from the one hole last out. Draws better today and with the drop in half is the pick with the positive switch to Graham.

9 SHAKESPEREAN STORY
8yo has only been off the board once in his last five starts here and scored a 2 1/2 length win last out off the claim by Chris Dorris. Moves from a conditioned claimer to open company today but still merits respect.
PADDOCK RACE EIGHT
Gray #2 WEGGIE was on his toes. The rest were ok.
BETTING RACE EIGHT
No unusual patterns in the betting at 18 minutes to post.
TRIP NOTES RACE SEVEN
BREZING RAIN emerged with a clear lead after a quarter, closely followed by SELINA MOON and CLEAR CUT. BREZING RAIN opened a clear lead while still in hand then drew away powerfully through the drive. BAR BABE and HUG IT OUT were along for the minor placings. CLEAR CUT made a menacing move on the stretch turn but faded in the stretch.
ANALYSIS RACE EIGHT
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 8

2 WEGGIE
3yo colt from the barn of Chris Block just missed on the lawn here last out facing similar company. Has posted a good work since and is more than capable of proving a factor once again with Emigh back up.

5 CANNON’S CALL
3yo has run his best races on the lawn here for Michael Stidham, scoring his maiden win at this mile trip three starts back. He was compromised by a rough trip next out but came back with a strong effort last out. That makes him tough to beat with Baird staying.

6 TRIPLE CHECK
Won his debut going two turns over this course for trainer Chris Block and, although he has turned in solid efforts in his next two, he has failed to move forward. 3yo is still eligible to pick up a share today with Perez.

8 KOKOMO GYPSYBroke his maiden over this course a year ago then did not look as sharp in two starts on the dirt at Hawthorne. He makes his first start of the year for Reavis who has positive stats with his returning vacationers.
PADDOCK RACE SEVEN
#3 BREZING RAIN looked quite sharp, the others looked good.
BETTING RACE SEVEN
No unusual betting action with 11 minutes to post.
ANALYSIS RACE SEVEN
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 7

2 BAR BABE
3yo Cuvee filly has yet to run a bad race, hitting the board in 4 of 6. She returns from a freshening for trainer Steve Hobby and her last three works have been sharp. Can contend with Graham taking over the mount.

3 BREZING RAIN
Despite a troubled trip this Whywhywhy filly ran a huge race in her debut, winning by 2 1/2 lengths at 15-1. She followed that with a good second at this class level last out and is the main threat today with the added 1/2 furlong.

5 CLEAR CUT
Forestry filly has kept good company in all ten trips to post for trainer Rusty Arnold and has been at her best on the synthetic surfaces, winning 3 of 5. She closed well to finish 3rd in her local debut here last out and will appreciate the added ground.
RACE 6 DISQUALIFICATION
#2 PRETTY TIPSY from 2nd for multiple interference at the top of the lane.
TRIP NOTES RACE SIX
CHASING THE QUEEN, PRETTY TIPSY and SIXTYSIX MARGAUX engaged in a still pace duel with 'TIPSY emerging with the lead. PASSION TAMER stalked about 5 lengths off the pace then ran by the leaders in the drive despie being bothered by RAPID RACER. 'TIPSY finished 2nd but was DQ'd for racking up the field at the top of the lane.
PADDOCK NOTES RACE SIX
The two year olds all looked good.
RACE SIX BETTING

With 11 minutes to post line 2nd choice#5 PASSION TAMER is cold on the board at 5-1.

MID-DAY TRACK BIAS
The polytrack has favored speed and pressers through the first 5 races.
TRIP NOTES RACE FIVE
SUM SPLENDOR and HANGMAN battled for the early lead with favorite WAXING stalking in 3rd about 5 lengths back. WAXING moved to the leaders on the stretch turn, quickly hit the front and won as if much the best. CRUZETTE rated in mid-pack early, came 4-wide on the turn and got up to finish a non-threatening 2nd.
ANALYSIS RACE SIX
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 6

1 CHASING THE QUEEN
Showed more speed when adding Lasix for her 2nd start but had the misfortune of running into a buzzsaw. She chased a hot pace and held to finish a clear 2nd. Better likely in her 3rd lifetime start.

4 ROCHELLE ROCHELLE
2yo Mizzen Mast filly makes her debut today for trainer Charles Simon and this 5 furlong dash on the turf should suit her well. Has shown plenty of ability in a steady work tab and should offer a fair price with Thornton up.

5 PASSION TAMER
This filly has turned in good efforts in her first two career starts on the main strip here for trainer Jerry Quinn. Breeding suggests she can handle the switch to the grass today and she merits respect.

6 SIXTYSIX MARGAUX
Has shown good speed from the gate in all three trips to post for trainer Steve Asmussen. She held on well to finish second here last out at today's distance. Is capable of moving forward on the grass making her a major player today.
PADDOCK RACE FIVE
#1 SUM SPLENDOR looked dull. The rest of these veran claimers all looked good.
BETTING RACE FIVE
With 15 minutes to post #3 WAXING, a last out Canani claim, is being heavily bet as the 8-5 choice. No other significant moves.
TRIP NOTES RACE FOUR
Heavily favored DREAMINOFJOSEPHINE opened a daylight lead while in hand and looked like she would cruise. SUPERIOR ATTITUDE racd in 3rd early, moved quickly to engage the leader a furlong out despite lugging in. Graham straightned her out in deep stretch and she won going away. NO EXAGGERATION raced closest to the early leader then held on for 3rd despite tiring.
ANALYSIS RACE FIVE
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 5

3 WAXING
Honest 4yo turned in a solid effort at a mile here last out with better company and was claimed by Nick Canani. Good 5f work on 8-22 for a barn that has no problem dropping below taking price to get the win today with Baird up.

4 CHURUBUSCO
Was not badly beaten last time despite becoming badly fanned out on the stretch turn. Goes via claim from Reavis to Mokry who is winning at a 25% clip with his small barn.

7 CRUZATTE
Has finished game seconds in his last two trips to the post here going two turns for this same tag. Is just as capable at today's one-turn mile trip, having hit the board in 5 of 8 tries. Alvarado has the return call.

8 CLASS ACK
Came up empty returning from a three-month layoff here last out in his first start since moving to the barn of Mike Dini. He ran well with better here last year and we expect better today back at his best distance.
PADDOCK RACE FOUR
These youngsters all looked good.
BETTING RACE FOUR
With 13 minutes to post 2nd time starter #4 NO EXAGGERATION has been bet from 8-1 down to 3-1.
TRIP NOTES RACE THREE
BIGLIE SMALLWORLD and MIGHTY RULE contested a moderate pace with NO FAULT stalking from the rail in 4th. NO FAULT continued to race in hand to the furlong pole, switched to the outside and ran down the leaders to win clear. MIGHTY RULE only relinquished the lead in deep stretch. Early leader 'SMALLWORLD saved third.
ANALYSIS RACE FOUR
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 4

5 ECLIPTICALS WHISKY
First timer in the Jim Gulick barn has trained nicely up to her debut and draws a rather empty field. Gulick is dangerous with longshot first timers and the filly will receive Lasix.

7 SUPERIOR ATTITUDE
Tapit filly showed improved early interest holding on well to finish third making her second trip to post here last out for Louis Roussel. Eligible to take another step forward today moving to the grass.

8 DREAMINOFJOSEPHINE
Well bred filly returns from a layoff making her third career start and first since moving to the barn of Nick Canani who is hitting nearly 40% first out with new acquisitions. Last two works are sharp and the main threat on the grass with Baird riding.
PADDOCK RACE THREE
#3 BIGLIE SMALLWORLD and #4 MIGHTY RULE looked sharp. Others all looked ok.
BETTING RACE THREE
With 16 minutes to post there is no significant betting action.
ADDITIONAL LATE SCRATCH
8th race - #8 Nan's Lillie
TRIP NOTES RACE TWO
WANTO JONES broke fast to take a short lead over a well bunched field. NITA'S KITTY pressed from the outside with MUSTANG STACEY on the rail. WANTO JONES held the lead all the way while severely intimidating MUSTANG STACEY who was pinned in tight quarters nearly all the way. 'STACEY was full of run and was probably best.
RACE THREE ANALYSIS

RACE 3

1 POWER SURGE
5yo has won half of his starts this year for trainer Bret Calhoun including his last two. His last was his local debut here and first on a synthetic surface. He came away with a 4 3/4 length win and a career best figure. Can repeat at his best distance.

3 BIGLIE SMALLWORLD
Gelding is a running machine, hitting the board in 15 of 18 career starts while scoring 7 wins including his last three trips to post for Tom Amoss. He must be considered a strong contender with Graham up.

4 MIGHTY RULE
6yo missed by a neck three starts back for this same claiming tag and was haltered by Roger Brueggemann. Has also finished close seconds in both starts for the new barn which includes neck loss in stakes. Threat back in for a tag.
PADDOCK RACE TWO
The gray #6 SMOKY BELLE was slightly edgy. The others looked good.
LATE SCRATCHES
2nd race
#7 Europa Dancer

4th race
#1 Dixie Forever
#3 Soleil Rouge

6th race
#3 Tool Time Girl

8th race
#3 Some Of the Sea

9th race
#4 Spruce Lake
#10 Bruce Carl
BETTING RACE TWO
#2 WANTO JONES was 3-1 on the line but with 17 minutes to post she is the 8-5 favorite.
TRIP NOTES RACE ONE
INFLIGHT broke quickly then was joined after a quarter mile by ALL OUT BLITZ. Y CHANCE IT, who had broken very slowly, made a sustained run to make it 3 horses across the track on the turn. ALL OUT BLITZ got the lead between horses and pulled clear in deep stretch. Y CHANCE IT held on very well for 2nd after being forced to make that long sustained run. INFLIGHT held on for 3rd. The others were never a factor.
ANALYSIS RACE TWO
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 2

1 MUSTANG STACEY
Dropped to these same conditions here last out while making her third start of the year for trainer James DiVito. She scored a game win, her second in four starts over this strip. Major player once again.

2 WANTO JONES
3yo filly has been a consistent performer for trainer Steve Asmussen, finishing in the money five of seven trips to post which includes finding the winner's circle three times. Scored her maiden win in her second career start as a 2yo last June and was given the rest of the year off to mature. She has continued to move forward with each of her five starts as a 3yo, winning 2 of her last 3 by over 11 lengths combined. Has been freshened since shipping from Lone Star last month and, with two good 5f drills here at Arlington, she appears more than capable of handling the move to the synthetic surface. Barn has her well spotted for her local debut and the presence of Bridgmohan is only a plus.

4 MAXY LEVENS
Was unable to get past Mustang Stacey last time when favored. If she can run back to her big win 3 starts back she can turn the tables on her rival.
PADDOCK RACE ONE
All six runners looked good. #1 Y CHANCE IT removed the front wraps last time but they are back on today.
TURF COURSE
Races 4, 5, 6 and 8 have been taken off the turf. All 9 races will be on polytrack.
BETTING RACE ONE
With 22 minutes to post there is significant betting action on #6 ALL OUT BLITZ. He has been bet from a line price of 10-1 down to 4-1. He will probably drift back up.
ANALYSIS RACE ONE
ANALYSES OF THESE HORSES ARE PLACED IN POST POSITION ORDER. THESE ARE NOT MY SELECTIONS.

RACE 1

2 RED WINE
3yo colt was a $500,000 yearling purchase and was claimed for $15,000 last out at Churchill after posting a 10 3/4 length maiden win. Even effort here last out for new barn when moving into allowance company. The one to beat dropping to a much more suitable spot.

4 INFLIGHT
Colt has turned in four good efforts here with better company for trainer Bret Calhoun and must be considered a major contender today dropping nearly in half to a career low with Graham back aboard.

6 ALL OUT BLITZ
Can't overlook this one making his second start back from a 14 month layoff and only his 4th start overall. Obviously needed his last and, with a significant drop this time around, can prove a factor with Razo.
SATURDAY'S WEATHER REPORT
Cloudy and cool with only a 20% chance of rain. The polytrack is always fast and, since Friday's races were off the turf, the turf course is expected to retain some moisture.
