HORSE TO WATCH
1st EVE’S APPLE
Was rated in last behind a slow pace, was forced to circle the field then rallied strongly to get up for 2nd. Her final quarter in :24 was excellent for this class of filly. Beats a field like this with faster fractions to close into.

INSTANT STYLE rated well off the pace, after being wide on the first turn, rallied between horses on the stretch turn and got to the front in the last 70 yards. HERE OUI GO AGAIN also far back early, swung widest of all on the stretch turn and got up for the place. SENSATIONAL GOLD stalked the pace early and proved best of the early runners.

TRIP NOTES RACE NINE

SHE BE WILD stalked the pace in 4th, was in behind a wall of horses on the stretch turn, swung to the far outside and proceded to dust the field. TIZ MIZ SUE made a middle move into contention, made a big move to the lead at the top of the lane but had no answer when the winner came calling. SCREEN LEGEND was going well at the wire and almost tagged 'SUE for the place.

RACE 10
1 SHAKER LAKES
Freshened by Helen Pitts following two 3rd place finishes sprinting on poly. Bred to go long on the grass and training strongly for a top barn. Karlsson rides this course well.
3 HOME FRIES
Dynaformer filly was moved to the barn of Rusty Arnold this year and her only try on the grass for the new barn was against a much stronger group than she meets today. Blinkers go on now and capable with Emigh.
7 SENSATIONAL GOLD
Medaglia D'oro filly is the choice to graduate today for trainer Chris Block returning to the turf where she just ran a huge race here in her second career start beaten a head. The turn back to a mile is a plus and Razo has the return call.
8 BETTY LOU
Holy Bull filly turned in her best effort at this mile trip here two starts back and with the move to the turf is a major contender with Campbell back in the irons.

#8 GRAN ESTRENO was gunned to the lead from his outside post and allowed to set walking fractions. When the 6F went in 1:19 1/5 you knew the front runner would be tough, and he was. Under a fine ride by E T Baird he held the lead to the wire. #6 DUBIOUS MISS, who chased the early leader, held on for the place. The late runners had virtually no chance.

RACE 9
1 GABBA GIRL
2yo filly won her debut here in July by nine lengths for trainer Steve Asmussen and followed with a troubled 4th in the Top Flight last out. The mile trip today suits her well and we feel that she will be overlooked and offer a good price. Emigh rides.
6 SHE BE WILD
Has won her first two by over 12 lengths combined for Wayne Catalano which includes a 5 1/4 length score in the Top Flight here last out. Adds another furlong today off two sharp works and she is obviously a threat at short price.
7 TIZ MIZ SUE
Tiznow filly missed by a nose in her debut but came right back to win by nearly 8 lengths last out for trainer Steve Hobby. Looking for this one to improve with the added ground today and she is the choice with Graham up.

RACE 8
1 PALLADIO
7yo returned from a layoff to win the G3 Seagrams Cup at Woodbine last out for Roger Attfield and had also won another G3 over that synthetic surface last fall. Has trained extremely well since then and must be considered in his local debut.
5 WICKED STYLE
Honest colt has won 5 of 12 for trainer Rusty Arnold which includes his last racing on the lawn here. He is just as capable on the synthetic, winning 3 of 5 including 2 of 3 here at Arlington. Was a G1 winner as a 2yo and merits much respect.
7 CHURCH SERVICE
6yo ships in from Del Mar for trainer Mike Mitchell where he finished a game third in a $150K stakes last out going 1 1/2 miles on the synthetic surface. His last ten starts have come in stakes including 7 graded. Well suited to today's distance with Graham up.

Favored DIXIE BAND stalked the early leaders in 3rd, got a narrow lead in deep stretch then was pulling away in the final strides. PISCITELLI raced in 4th along the rail, swung wide for the drive, had dead aim on the leaders but could not finish with the winner. He was outnodded for 2nd by U APPEAL TO ME.

RACE 7
3 TIGHT GRIP
Lightly raced 5yo has run well on the turf hitting the board in 3 of 4 including two good efforts over this course since moving to the barn of Louis Roussel. Added ground a plus today and retains Alvarado.
6 DENIM
4yo colt has posted all 3 career wins over this course including a score at today's distance two starts back. Beaten only a half-length at this allowance condition last out and can't overlook with Wade aboard.
8 CELESTIAL COMET
Claimed for $50,000 in March by Diane Alvarado and just missed in his last start on the lawn at Delaware in July. Has been freshened and appears to be well spotted for his local debut today. Potts aboard.
9 TONY TERRIFIC
Improving 5yo was rightly awarded the win on a DQ last out in a $25,000 claimer. That was his best race since last winter and this jump into allowance company is a small one. Karlsson replaces Graham.

HEART THIEF was last early, moved into contention on the stretch turn, got through in the 3-path and ran down the leader in deep stretch. RACE 6
2 U APPEAL TO ME
Colt won his debut here in May and has continued to move forward for trainer Michael Stidham. Returned to Arlington last out to finish a game second in the Spectacular Bid at 7F and a major player today with Graham up.
5 PISCITELLI
2yo Victory Gallop colt turned in a game effort sprinting in his debut at Monmouth in July, breaking from the one hole to finish second beaten only a head while facing a good MSW field. Trainer Greg Sacco stretched the colt out to a mile in his next trip to post over the same track and this time he rated nicely off the pace to score his maiden win. With plenty of time between starts we expect this colt to take another step forward today. Like the fact he has a win at today's distance and it’s a positive sign that the barn shipped him here early enough to get a good half mile work over the surface. Alvarado takes the call and is the choice for the win at a fair price.
7 DIXIE BAND
Followed his strong debut win here for Wayne Catalano with a score in the Spectacular Bid last out. Adds another furlong today and obviously must be considered a contender off his first two but will be a short price.

5 PRETTY SLIC CHICK
Returned from a 10 month layoff here in late July to pick up her second career win for Frank Kirby and followed with a good second last out. Could see her best today making her third start of the current form cycle.
7 DASHEL
3yo filly closed well to beat the 11 horse field in her career debut here last month for trainer Chris Block. Has been razor sharp in three works since and can only improve with a race under her now. Well spotted to repeat with Perez.

RACE 4
2 MORE THAN ABLE
Ran far too good to lose two starts back when he missed by a nose in a highly rated race. He settled for 4th after a very rough trip last time. Good chance in a contentious turfer.
6 YEP
Was claimed two back by Ron Goodridge and turned in his best race yet last out for new barn moving to the turf. He scored a game maiden win for more than twice the tag for which he was taken. Eligible to take another step forward receiving Lasix today and merits respect at a fair price.
7 GRAND PLAY
4yo colt won his debut over MSW company at Turfway by over five lengths and faced quality allowance fields in his next four trips to post while racing on both grass and synthetic. Like his chances to score today dropping in for a tag reuniting with Graham.
8 SOUND BARRIER
Has been compromised by troubled trips in 3 of his last 4 since returning from a 20 month layoff for Don Von Hemmel. 5yo has ability on the grass and can prove a factor with a clean trip.

3yo filly has won 3 of 7 for trainer James DiVito including a game score here two back returning from a break. Compromised by a troubled trip last out but more than capable of rebounding today with the switch to Sanchez.
2 MY NEW LADY
3yo filly has done little wrong for trainer Tom Proctor, posting two seconds and three wins in her first six trips to the post. She beat a good 1st tier optional claiming field in her local debut here two starts back. making her a perfect 2 for 2 at today's distance. Filly has been freshened and with good works and the drop in for a tag is the choice to find the winner's circle once again with Castanon getting the call now.
